The first attempt...
« on: October 14, 2014, 01:29:02 pm »

This is the first stage of installing the gas powered torpedoes (designed and built by Ron Perrott) into my Sheerline Akula. The resin bulkhead (part of the torpedo installation kit made by David Merriman for the Revell Skipjack) will be glued into the hull bottom, and the ends of of the brass tubes will be glued into holes cut into the bow.

Video? The perishin' things are too quick for video, they're out of the tubes and gone like a rat up a drainpipe...I'd never keep up.  <:(

Hello Barry...long time no speak. Hope all's good with you and yours?

The Akula is being totally rebuilt, I'm swapping the internal module for a flat topped box system (me and cylinders just don't get on...) and installing the torpedoes as I go, so it may be a while before the first fish leaves the tube, but rest assured the video footage will be posted here for all to see (or mock....)
