flap (or Becker) rudder
« on: December 13, 2012, 09:14:02 pm »

So, I was wondering how these flappy rudder things worked, couldn't find anything definitive on the net so thought I would have a go myself.

I just made it up as I went along, using plasticard, and surprise surprise, it works!

Here are a couple of pics.

Next, I will make some proper job ones to go with my next build.

Brett, Cadmunkey did a nice job on a pair for his scratch built tug.

Thanks for those Umi, good pics and explanation.

I had plans for doing the hinge in the same way, I like the idea for the mounting plate.
