The alpha flag is commonly used in the UK as a diver down flag....Capt'n Pugwash, would you care to select a flag, as you also got the last one correct, and I have not the time to look for one at present. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Its a Squadron Badge Dave
Nothing to do with the vessel class.
It just denotes that the ship is part of the
1st Fast Patrol Boat Squadron.
Just the same as a frigate from the 10th
Frigate Squadron would have a number 10
on the funnel.
When I was in Eskimo in the Persian Gulf we were
The 9th Frigate Squadron but we had a picture of
an arab dhow as our squadron badge.
