It was a very Sad day for the brave crew and family.  I watched it on BBC 4 last night at 10.pm and had a job getting of to sleep after i saw it.
Why did the coaster not take tow from the tug then it would have been all a bit different.
My heart goes out to all our brave RNLI crew that have to put there live in danger to save other.
THANK YOU all in the RNLI. Lets hope you all get a peacefull Christmas time.

Here is a photo of the Flagstaff, made from a piece of the wreckage of the Lifeboat, Dedicated to the Lost Crew of the Solomon Browne. Also of the memorial plaque, placed under the Flag.  These are placed in a quiet part of Truro Cathedral,  enter through the Great Door, and turn to the right. My apologies for the poor quality of the Photos

31 Years ago tonight the gallant crew of the Penlee Lifeboat "Solomon Browne" all lost their lives while attempting to rescue the crew from the Union Star.
We must never forget their sacrifice."A Braver act could not be"

Most people look for recent posts so I wouldn't worry too much.
