Christmas Morning
« on: December 24, 2012, 11:32:23 pm »

It's Christmas morning in our house and chaos reigns. My daughter and son-in-law and their family are busily unwrapping their presents on a beautiful and pleasantly warm Christmas Day.

Woken up at 06:30 by thunder and lightning and and absolute deluge. By 07:00 I was outside in my pyjamas putting a plug in the driveway gulley as the sewer was backing up with floodwater and threatening to flood the garage, seem to have escaped so far though but rather a rude awakening for Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas everyone anyway!

Think I might go back to bed now....

Happy Christmas all,   :-)   I've just been for my morning walk and there's two large trees on the sandbanks just opposite the quay that have presumably washed down from banks that the floods have undercut further upstream.... Devon seems awash these days, so those being flooded have my fullest sympathy..

I do hope that all is well with my fellow Mayhemers and that those that have family around have the opportunity to enjoy them and the day. My son and his family live in Tokyo so I'm just about to Skype them all to see how my grandson liked the Meccano I sent him... Oh to be six again !  O0

You're quite right, Martin, a happy family IS a wondrous thing. We had a great day :-))  We all went to my youngest son's in-laws for Christmas lunch and a big family get-together, 28 of us. Plenty of food and drink, good company, and surrounded by family. What more could we want?

The weather was good, warm and sunny but not too hot, with a nice breeze arriving mid afternoon. As I said, a great day.

I hope you all enjoy your day as much as we did O0  Merry Christmas.

Well, just crawled out of bed, made a cup of coffee, and now browsing over this discussion thread. Just me and the missus at home - and she's still sleeping.

Looking out the window it's plain to see that it rained cats n' dogs etc during the night.

Peter; I envy you down in Australia - weather wise I mean  :}  ..... I lived in Sth Africa for many years - how I do miss the southern hemisphere summers - a BBQ's in Aus -  a 'Braai' in Safa land  {-)

Anyway, enjoy xmas day with your families.

Cheers  :-))

Merry Christmas to all of you out there  sort of an extended family.
Just been to Daughters and delivered aready to go allbatteries charged new build MFA Piranah ready for the pond tomorrow morn weather permitting. Today would have been perfect but too much
going on.
My eldest Grandson 5 years old now has a fleet of three boats.
Much modded Dickie tug, A springer and now a slightly quicker electric racer.
Just hope the hobby stays with him.

Ned, the hobby may wane from him in later life when he meets girls but no doubt he will always remember his times as a youngster with his boats and will get into them again just like I did  O0 :-)
