Mono Hulls Japan
« on: December 28, 2012, 08:22:27 pm »

Hi

Thought I would give this a try seeing the Japanese are notorious for building excellent quality models

Does any one know of any Japanese RC boat builders who build large scale mono hulls that are being produced in Japan. Looking to setup with gas.

Thanks any information would be appreciated .

Can't help you with boats that are made in Japan :(( Here is the Japanese Model Power boat Association and a links page that may be of some use......  :o

Another UK producer is Prestwich Model Boats, well performing hulls at reasonable prices.

Hi Dillinger 04,
Delta Force range of hulls have always done well. In fact Ian Folkson in became 2012 World Champ competing with a 3.5cc powered Delta Force.
He is the UK suppler of Delta Force. If you go for a Delta Force buy from him, not one of the **** copies.
Ian's web site, with his contact details on is www.iansboats.co.uk

Hi Guys.

thanks for the info I see that DF makes epoxy hulls, but for some reason if I am correct
They do not sell them finished only as unfinished. I have been told that you have to sand and fill
And sand some more paint or gelcoat your self to achieve a nice looking boat . Has any one purchased
One of there hull in epoxy and gone through these steps ?

Thanks .

As Vnkiwi pointed out the company is called Delta Force HK. Nothing anti Japan anywhere. The only derogatory comments have been made by you Dillinger 04 about a boat I doubt you have actually seen. Delta Force boats won 3 different classes at last years World Championship. So if you want the best with proven track record you know which to go for. The polyester resin hulls are moulded in Main Land China and the epoxy resin hulls are moulded in Hong Kong.

Hi

Ok I know you we're just having some fun poking at things made in China, but honistaly I am only on here to gather information and have injoyed looking at the different websites you have provided .You are right JKD I have never seen DF's line of epoxy boats in person I was only going off  what I was told by a dealer of Delta Force boats, but as you pointed out it does look like they do make some nice boats, if this is the case then they must be of excellent quality. As most good's that are being produced in Hong Kong are quality  products .  ps what originally go me all started on this was watching the videos on DF's  web site
They really go and look cool nice designs always fun to gather information on this .

Thanks   :-))
