First RC Model
« on: December 29, 2012, 07:11:17 pm »

I don't know why I didn't think about doing this earlier with this group.  Probably in the early 1980's, I built the Sterling model of the "Emma C. Berry".  Her hull was balsa planked with an overlay of fiberglass.  She was about 4ft long and tall and had lead in her bilges for ballast. RC was rudder only with a small electric motor for aux and to help me get her out of chains (it worked).  Have to admit, she looked really cool on the pond, but very tender.  Only sailed her a couple of times and then she went into storage for many years.  After I moved here, I unpacked her and rebuilt her as a static model with lots of detail added. Last year I gifted her to a friend who is one happy fella. (had to make room for my Tramp Steamer model).  Anyhows, hope you all enjoy the fuzzy shot... sorry, its all I got.
Regards,
Dennis
