Mr Tom
« on: December 30, 2012, 06:25:54 pm »

I thought you might like to see my latest toy a vintage model boat company Mr Tom very quick to build and quick on the water the motor is a cheap JP 480 watercooled with a 30mm brass prop and a 4500 NiMH battery , run time is about half an hour constant use it was a bit tight fitting everything in but it all went once the servo was positioned in the front cabin.

The Kit is very good better than the old lesro ones the quantity of the laser cut is brilliant it took all of 3 weeks to build and had its maiden voyage today at broomfield park a word of warning make sure you put the formers in the right way round ,the numbers on them will show even when painted over . All in all its good value for money and fun to build. I will take some pics of the inside layout tomorrow so you can see how tight it is to fit everything in .

When the formers are laser cut they have their number laser cut into the front and it is cut quite deep into the wood so if you put the formers in the wrong way round they show.
I have attached the rest of this years (2012) builds  ,a Scamp built from the original plans but with modified cabin,a pacific balsa challenger with a small brushless motor and a small seaplane tender built from a 1928 photo. I had plenty of time stuck indoors recovering from an op so had to have something to keep me busy.
