Better than being in Canada - over there " Bear with me" is a 999 call.

afternoon fellow modelers  :}  just a little update, i revived my running gear from westbourne models and some fittings from cornwall model,
the running gear consists of a MFA 385 motor, 15-amp MTRONIKS ESC, and a small robbe Rudder, still to look at batteries...
The fittings consisted of mostly 3, ball 20 mm high brass stations, and a small about of 0.7mm brass wire to start making the railings.
i also painted a few parts of the deck fittings for my MS loyal,
enjoy the pictures and i hope everyones enjoying the build,

hopefully tonight ill have finished off the wheelhouse, and lower superstructure, and started making the front panel where the nav lights go, this part isn't included in the plans, so i need to look at measurements and scratch build it..

happy boating  :-))

Just started building the 1/50th Loyal class. Where did you get the winch?

hi barrie, i havent found any winches witch look similar to the ones on the original ship, i did come across a website a week ago that does alot of fittings for models from 1/40-1/50 it was an american site and was something like scalemodelfittings.com or something along those lines, would be nice to see some pics of your model barrie :)

happy boating,

Dan,

Nothing to show as yet ok2  Only drilled the hole for the prop shaft and stuck on one side deck support. I plan to use a Graupner Speed 400 motor as the current draw is considerably less than the MFA 385 I have. I bought a slim prop-shaft from Model Boat Bits with a 25mm brass prop. Its not easy finding props for 2mm shafts. The biggest seems to be 25mm. If this is too small I will have to fit a plastic one. You can get 30mm plastic.
I will be making my own rudder from sheet brass and brass tube. Look at Battlecrafts for winches - not sure if they have the correct one, but I did buy a 1/48th one from them for another project.

hi barrie, i did look at the Graupner Speed 400 motor but i wanted a motor that had a little more power, so ended up with the MFA 385, i brought a standard 3mm prop shaft and 3mm prop, the shaft does look a little big for the hole so may need some tweeking or a smaller shaft, i ended up buying a robbe rudder, (small) it seems to be the right size for the loyal

Hello!!!!
Any progress with the loyal???   {:-{

sorry for being inactive guys, been working alot, got myself a new toy too :D.

now for an update, not much progress atm, been working on the model slipway loyal too so been swapping between the two, so far ive managed to fit and glue the prop shaft, cut out the anchor recesses, cut and filled out the freeing port,  fitted the lower structure, and started on the wheel house, ive ordered some fitting from a website in ariazona USA over a month ago, still had nothing in the post or no email's im gonna need the fittings soon. tbh its a good job i attended ellesmere port boat show, managed to pick up a few bits and bobs there so not all bad :D

i got the posts from cornwall models, the ones on the original vessels are flat, but decided to add a little character to the model and went with the 3 ball posts
