Bmprs class D build 60" Deep V
« on: January 17, 2013, 07:34:22 pm »

A big thanks to a couple of guys (they know who they are) managed to get this hull for class while i finish off my builds as they wont be ready in time
Had to do a fair bit of work to it,reinforcing the hull and join, build the stringers etc
Apart from some new hardware ill be using my RCMK Modded K30 RZ engine
This build is not so much looks but getting it on the water and getting use to driving round bouys and the other racers
Not much left to do now and get it on the water (once defrosted) and setup in time for the new season  :-))

Oh yes Darren, very tasty - although a bit big for me and t'other old 'uns  :-)
Just noticed the miniature workmate underneath!  Hehe!
Might be a while before you can test looking at the weather  %)

Cheers

Finally Finished,Added sillicone edging strip to tidy up the join, installed the fuel bag with some rubber matting under it to protect the bag and a fixing point, drilled 2 holes in the stringers for the fuel pipes to pass through to keep them out the way and easy to maintain
Test fired it up after been sitting for awhile and richened it up abit to start with for now
Next is to get it on the water once defrosted and see how it goes

Ok been a slight change of plan with this build
I decided not to use the RCMK RZ and build up a new engine from parts and have ago at modding myself, just hope it works ok  %)
RCMK SE crankcase modded transfer to match top end
Zen 29cc Topkit modded transfer ports and matched up the intake and exhaust ports
Lightend and relieved piston (not done by me wasnt brave enough LOL)
Big bore carb and EZ starter
All parts and machined piston thanks too Jack @ millpond models

Next job is too get it installed and setup :-))

New engine now installed and test fired it up so far so good.fired up 2nd pull
idles nicely and instant smooth throttle response, will be different story with prop on and in the water but overall looking forward to see how it goes  :-))

]Not much exhaust showing LOL and abit of hull modding new exhaust exit

just leaves to finish up the hull work and abit of paint then get in on the water

Bench tested the new engine today, got a slight issue, the exhaust flange is leaking water in to cylinder so swapping out for no leak flange (lesson learnt on that front haha)but sounds ok need to get it on the water once new flange arrived and get it setup and see how my 1st attempt modding/engine build has worked out

Hi Daz
I absolutely love the logo decals at the back of your boat! That works really well.
When I viewed the still photos I thought that the hull looked really very long. However viewing the you tube clip demonstrates that your boat is in fact very lively. I bet it will be fun in choppy water.
I hope the teething issues are now fixed.
Cheers
