Hi Gary, If its early 27mhz am tx,  futaba, accoms, hitec, xtals should work ok.
If its later 27 or 40 mhz fm, I'm  not sure.

If you have crystals, have a quick try at home.  If it works, it works.  If not turn off quick, knowledge gained and no harm done.  Generally speaking, the transmitter crystal causes the TX to transmit on the frequency stamped on the can - due to the way receivers work, the RX crystal is offset, and some manufacturers have their own ideas.

Gary nearly forgot Oop's,
Always use xtals in the matched pairs they came in, marked tx  rx,
ie 2 futaba or 2 hitec etc.

I though you were ment to use the crystals that matched what you were pluging them into ??? Futaba Tx- Futaba Crystal,  Hitec RX -  Hitec Crystal ?

Hi Mankster, most rc manufacturers, do not make the crystals,
they will get them from a place like hyko japan that just makes coils, crystals etc only,
Also for rc they are made in pairs and must be used as such.
So there a pretty standard item even though the rc makers will put their own labels/markings  on them.
the other important factors is whether its an, Am tx & rx,  or Fm tx rx. 27mhz or 40mhz
ie am 27mhz xtal for am 27mhz set, fm 40mhz xtal  for fm 40mhz.

There are other factors such as single conversion rx`s and dual conversion rx`s, some equipment manufacturers using different intermediate frequencies etc, etc.   I keep to a simple rule, use the crystals as supplied for the equipment, and if you want spares, specify for what equipment they are required.   Pete M
