sharp chisel, at the right angle will do a great job , wrong angle itll cut into the hull....i tried it on my first go it was relatively easy...yes i was nervous...but it saved an enormous amount of elbow grease...then use fairy or some other agent to wipe and clean smooth...
its not a popular choice i used acetone on acrylic spray, white spirit on oils and enamels....never had any issue with hull damage, i put the thinner on a cloth and used it adequately not to much it runs and drips etc....i also found where i may have had the accidental deeper gouge, the thinner helped rub and fill to a certain extent..
it worked for me, i may be critisised but ...hey ho
