HMS Mohawk c.1910-Single 18" Torpedo tube (Light type).
« on: June 13, 2012, 11:57:52 am »

Hello all! Has anyone got any images of a single 18" torpedo tube they can post? I have one picture of an 18" tube mounted on HMS Swift, shown from starboard. Could do with one from port. Alternatively does anyone no of any plans available? Many thanks Nick.

hi there Nick

I am unsure as to whether this will be of assistance, but I myself have the drawings for HMS Mohawk at 1:96 scale - you may, if you wish, borrow them and copy them and return to me :-) if you send me a personal message with your address :-)

I have tried scanning them myself, but no luck - as you can see by the pic - they dont scan well being an old copy

Hi John! Thanks for your post but i have the same drawings already.

This photo is the only picture i've found so far. The tubes i'm scratch building should look pretty good from this side and a bit plain on the other. Any ideas as to what workings, if any, might be on the other side? Cheers Nick

Nick

Did you resolve your research issues with these torpedo tubes. What scale is your Mohawk build? I produce the 18inch single deck tubes as mini kits in 1/48th scale (for HMS Velox) if that's any help. How about some pictures of the build?

If you go to Lolana Dockyard, thier advertising includes have a plan of Amazon, supposed to be very accurate plans. May help with your query, it also shows Amazon was a 3 screw vessel.
