Hi Coastie. I enjoyed our conversation this morning. You are on the right track in printing off this emblem at different sizes and trying them on the bow. Its all trial and error as I have found out with my minesweeper.

Hi Coastie

Just looking at your pics ... How much do you want to keep the hand and olive branch? I only ask because maybe without it a smaller crest looks just fine but with it you need a larger crest for its detail. Just an idle thought

I was very impressed with the wife of Jamesy (Rab C Nesbitt)
She stabbed him between the shoulders ....
But always in the seam to make sewing repairs easier  {-)

Not into Heraldry, and off track, but isn't the hand etc, part of the crest, whereas the helmet, is an embellishment and the shield is the crest.

Another suggestion might be to use the "Fill" option on whatever programme you use and choose a colour that's close to your hull colour. Print out and trim. BY.
