Remeber ASCII? Anyone know how to save an ASCII file to Word?

It's the only disc I have of a book I wrote years ago. I now want to revise it and certainly don't want to have to type it all again. I think this must be a relic of converting LocoScript Pro to Word. And no, I haven't got the Locolink disc, needless to say.

Try This
Should have said Just open it as plain text . ASCII is another term for 'plain text'. Use SaveAs to save it
as a Word document,

What version of word are you using?
you should be able to import it as a regular text file like LB said, as long as there is not formatting (if there is you will see all sorts of strange text and glyphs as well as the text you were expecting

Or if you like I can deal with it for you
drop me a PM if you need help, I'll give you my email address and you can email me the file

A link here  http://www.ehow.com/how_5852534_read-ascii-files-ms-word.html  with a how to.
Locoscript might have stuck its own formatting junk in, and that might show as such, but any of it that is repetitive can be edited out using the bulk search and destroy facility in the Edit menu.
One thing I picked up recently when involved with a local group producing a newsletter was to give the printer the file in .pdf format after making the original look as wanted.  There is a vastly reduced chance of the printer cocking up your chosen layout as opposed to handing it over as a word document when anything that can happen, will.
