Mine is most certainly 2.4gHz, and there's only 1/2" of uncovered wire, the rest is coax type wire. That's good then, I'll just leave that last 1/2" vertical and rest can be left under the decks out of the way. The pistol grip tx is strangely comfortable for arthritic hands, feels very nice in the hand.

Now all I need is a lift down to the lake to go play with it!

Great responses! I found it interesting that the UK version came with the 2.4G radio and the US version the older 27mgz. Glad that all worked out!

Hi Boomer,

According to the U.S. Horizon Hobby/ProBoat websites, it looks like it was also sold in the States with the 2.4 radio, although it might not have been for too long before they discontinued it.
The part number for the 27 MHz version is PRB3050, and the 2.4g version is PRB3020S.

As an update to this, I had a real close look at the rx this morning...it has two aerial wires, one slightly longer than the other, which in my book makes it a 2.4gHz rx for sure. See image below.

how do you find pistol grip tx's? I use to avoid them and go with stick types but now ive got use to them i find them easier to use where speed and precision is needed.

Many years ago, when I used to race the 1/8th scale ic engined stock cars, I had a Futaba steerwheel tx and got on with it very well indeed. Then I got into boats and never had another one until I bought my Robbe Jet Ski, that had a pistol grip steerwheel tx, and again I got it very well with it. Nowadays, with arthritic hands and fingers, I thought I'd try another one...it's very comfortable and easy to hold, but I haven't tried it out on the water yet.

And here is the Volere 22 ready to go, all I've done is to add the crewman and his dog. It does want a couple of rope coils and maybe a lifebelt added just to give it a bit of a 'lived in look', but apart from that, she's ready to hit the water.
