A blast from the past..
« on: January 31, 2013, 10:25:39 am »

Anyone remember racing multi boats at Shoreham way back when?

Just found this ancient photo of my old MRH (Model Racing Hulls) Silak 60 with a Webra .61 motor...one of those rare times when I made a good start.

Ha - bet it was a handicap start  {-)

In Nottingham, we used to be swamped by onlookers!
Too busy to go "darn Sarf"  {-)

Cheers

Course that wasn't me!  Not 'posh' enough  ;)

I had an Isotope with a Webra 40 - (in the middle with the red/blue jacket) :P

Cheers

Happy days,

multi racing wasn't really my thing but my club in the early 70's (Avon Cosmetics ,Northampton) was quite keen.

 I had a Silak 60 with a webra 61R, a Jaguar with an HP40 and a Mini Jaguar with a Taipan 3.5.

Never did much good with them! Still have a small collection of engines from the 70's. Might reappear in BMPRS sometime

P.S.  Have you moved Danny?

The good old days...I wasn't much good at it, but it was good fun for a few years.

Hi Spearfish,
I think there were only about a dozen who were good in those days - I certainly wasn't one of them %)
I've raced at Becketts, but not on the river where I believe Avon used to run.
Ah, happy days - except for the blisters from two hours with the pull cord!
Still, I did have "killer" sideburns!!  Eat your heart out Wiggins  {-) {-) {-)

Cheers
