New "ish" to Marine Steam
« on: January 31, 2013, 03:40:41 pm »

Hi all,

Not so new to modelling, however, brand new to Marine Steam, so I hope somebody may be able to help me out here.

I have on the way (via a friend of a friend) a rather run down model, which is the Tyne tug Joffre. Now, I'm contemplating making the model into a steam powered model ... this is where "you" come in.

Where, what, how, why and  :o How much! :o  ...

So, if you folks could possibly offer me some advice, I would be most greatful to you.

Where steam is concerned, I have steam knowledge/experience (on a much much larger scale), just not in model boating, so I'm more than prepared to do a Resto. job on something if that be the case.

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help/offer advice.  :-)

Miniature Steam in Australia have  an engine which suits the Calder Craft Joffre.
The prices are in Aussie dollars. I believe they have an agent in the UK.http://www.miniaturesteammodels.com/category146_1.htm
