Hello all,
Managed to fit most of the windows and frames this week, I will leave the back windows and door until the canopy is fitted, the top and side windows have been given a light spraying with Tamiya "smoke" this gives a slight tint although it does not seem to show up in the photos.

Thanks Derek,
I had the paint made up at a local car paint supplier, it is light orange, the code they put on the can is RAL.2008 they made up satin (hull & cabin) & matt (deck)
Hope this helps,
Paul.

Hello all,
After 3 hours of masking up the black has been sprayed on the hull, then another hour to de-mask!
For some unknown reason i didn't get clean edges on the hull sides ( i did use Tamiya masking tape) so some 4mm wide black strips were added to the edges, the stern area came out very nice, also the 6mm "D" section rubber fender has been cut and glued to the deck.

Have you tried using "Frog" masking tape Paul.....a little expensive but it's brilliant...no bleed at all.........only problem is it comes in wide.......and wide......no choice..............but a superb tape.

How long has the Tamiya tape been sitting around? I does seem to "go off" after a time once opened

Also another top tip
Stay away from pound shop masking tapes they are hopeless... they either suffer bleedthrough or leave a sticky residue

Thanks for all the comments guys,
Parts fitted this week are, handrail, canopy, rear cabin windows, frames and door,I have also fitted the rubber fender around the top of the hull.
Question, I want a 3-5mm white waterline, can i use trimline tape? used it for many years on RC Aircraft but i don't know if it is waterproof !!
Thanks Paul.

i have used car pinstriping tape for this, its designed to live outdoors .....so far had not troubles so long as preparation is good and there is no greasy fingers on the adhesive surface

Hello all,
Had a good week on the model, managed to put most of the deck fittings in place, I have decided to leave wiring up the LED's and radar motor until she has had a couple of "shake" down run's....just in case!!
A few weeks ago I thought I had made the wrong decision to go with the all over Orange, but now the fittings are in place I am very happy with the result.

that looks fantastic, - cant wait to hear how she handles on the water, and looking forward to seeing her with the lights wired up....

i have been messing around with different motors in mine, tried some 580 kv motors  along with the kit props but  not sure the set up is as good as my original one with smaller motors and  non scale props... plus it zapped the battery faster than i was expecting too

will continue to tinker until i am happy !
