See Channel 4 tonight at 9pm for "all the answers" following the press conference this morning on the findings of the scientists.  DNA close match to descendents. Carbon dating very close dates.
The programme is said to include a facial reconstruction from the skull found.

Possibly not a good idea in view of his reputation for disposing of princes...

Anyway, the proposal seems to be to rebury him in Leicester Cathedral.

The guy has been dead for over five hundred years.
If HRH wants to pay for the huge funeral then fine but if its the state that is to pay then I'm against it. All these cuts in our essential services - so what else do we close to pay for it. No anti royalist feelings expressed or intended there either.

Verdict on Richard III's remains - serious trauma to skull, bent back. Atos confirms he is fit for work

I think it has already been decided to re interr him in Leicester so not much point in continuing to speculate.

A very interesting story and amazing that they found him so quickly. Time Team eat your heart out!

The weirdest thing was the parking space directly above him was marked with an 'R', which was directly above the skeleton. Oddly, no-one remembers why.

Forensic facial reconstruction of Richard III computer generated from confirmed skull scans.

Closely resembles portraits of the time.

As a kid I used to travel to School in Leicester via King Richards Road and over Richard III Bridge
and my brothers school was adjacent to the Bosworth Field Battle site so I have always wondered about
what happened to him (I do enjoy medieval history as well). The area where he was found I know very well
as I walked the beat there a good few years ago.  Now all they have to find are the bodies of
the Princes in the Tower and try to prove whether he was the tyrant as Shakespeare suggests or a canny bloke
as the people of York wrote at the time.
