Deans kits are good kits, the higher end models are more suited to the experiences builder who has a good few kits under his belt and is prepared to do a bit of fettling as a normal part of the build. Imagine the cost of a destroyer kit if it were to come with completely CNC cut parts accurate to the Nth degree, with absolutely perfect fittings all ready to paint? You will find most kits require cast fittings to be cleaned up, flash removed etc. Model aircraft do not have the same level of detail found on 1/96th or 1/72nd warship kits. My next project is to be Deans HMS Skirmisher, WW1 Cruiser, with 450 castings to prepare.. This can be done as a rolling process along side the rest of the build, whilst waiting for glue to dry, or just for a change of scene.

Nick.
