I'm not sure exactly why the photos suddenly appeared, but I'm thinking there are quite a few in a single post, and I made them as high in resolution as the rules allow. On why the hull seems so smooth:
Because she had a welded hull, so no plate laps, no rivets
just a nice smooth hull

Even so, a welded seam is still visible, isn't it? Maybe not so much at a distance, but in this case, although the simulated welds would have been 1/10 the size of actual welds, standing next to the hull, the welds would have been visible, wouldn't they? Take a look at this photo of Yamato under construction. It's not a clear shot of the hull, but the seams appear to be visible, even so:
