Thanks Collin.
Meanwhile I had verified by comparing the main dimensions from their respective Wikipedia articles of
BRETAGNE and
NORMANDIE that the latter is slightly longer.
Anyway, it is utterly inexplicable to me that nowhere ever the length between perpendiculars (LPP) is stated, and that never it is mentioned which length is meant when a length is stated
(though it is obvious to me that most likely the length over all (LOA) is meant)
Not even
Britanny Ferries' own website is making unambiguous statements,
let alone the vessel's
builders who should know better than anybody else.
I require the LPP as a reference length for my DELFTship scaling.
But I took measures after having loaded the GAP image in GIMP and by proportioning arrived at an LPP of 147 m for NORMANDIE.
Another highly appreciated measure for me is the (volumetric) displacement, or the block coefficient.
But you find this even more rarely than the LPP.
So I have to develop the lines from some gut feeling, thinking that NORMANDIE's CB must be somewhere between 0.6 and 0.7.
So I will go by the appearance of the sectional area curve (SAC) during the fairing procedure to decide when to stop adding volume.

Ralph
