Hi All, does anyone know what yacht this is please? Has a fibreglass hull and rest is wooden - I have been asked to refurbish it - It has mast and sails but I do not have them as yet. Boat is about a metre long

Cheers

Hi, apart from the over size rudder it looks like a Dragon class yacht.  Full size old Olympic class of racing yacht.  There are plans in Model Boat under Blood hound, about 30 inches loa.  Lots of literature on the web.

Thanks Roy, I tried searching the Model Boats website for Blood Hound but it did not turn up anything.

Hi, well you don't really need the plans, I researched the class about 20 years ago.  Your model hatchway  has been closed in to stop the water entering as the full size were just open large dinghys.
I think  there is some one on the forum who sailed in them.
I seem to remember that the yachts varied as to how much was spent on them.  Some had just a canvas deck others were immaculate.
Looks very nice though.

Hi Jon, just went out and measured this one, 51 1/4 inches. How would I go about stripping the paint off the fibreglass hull please?
