I'm in Sydney at present, visiting our middle son and his family. We came down from home on Friday, 720km with rain, torrential at times, nearly all the way. We left at 6.30am, stopped for morning tea, lunch and fuel, and arrived at 3.45pm, the last 7km having taken us 20 minutes due to the heavy Friday afternoon city traffic. We also had a very slow period with traffic held up due to road works. If we had delayed our trip until the following day we would not have been able to get here, as sections of the Pacific Highway were cut by floodwaters. One town, just inland from Coffs Harbour, had 480mm of rain in 24 hours, most of it in a 12 hour period!!
It's sunny here at present, although more rain is forecast
Peter.
