I agree with Steve his svitzer powerful is brilliant and to be fair when it works my norton is as good it's powerful enuff but not stupid and with the bowthruster is so manoeuverable!! Anythin bigger than your eldergarth is hard to get around the courses with the tow!

Good on you Chris that's all I done when I first started went as many tug tows as possible and teamed up with Steve and mike and they showed me the way! I had only ever done life size towing haha

Cheers lads - I think Chris will agree that were both more than up for coming along to your next meet for a bit of Towing. Just let us know when you plan to meet and we'll make the trip over!  :-))

So - maybe i'll go for a Portgarth build. I quite like the size of the Eldergarth - but as appealing as the bigger boats are - I can see that manoeverability may become harder to acheive when you have a larger boat. Puts pilot skills to the test though  {-) O0

Cheers Gav. I'm looking at something that serves local to me, a Middlesbrough or Tyne based tug.

Could maybe look at Phoenix Cross? It's getting the plans and scaling down etc that would be a pain in the neck!

So until I'm used to towing, maybe Portgarth would be a sensible option and I can move to better, more detailed scratch builds later on.  O0
