Must have been the Figurehead that left it on then. Too busy gazing into the distance dreaming of chocolate... ;)

Dear All,

Am pleased to advise that the timber required was given by an overseas 'party' some while ago, and things progress well.

It may be of interest to some members that I worked on the figurehead for
The Cutty Sark at the Earls Court Boat Show in 1959, I was working on stand 15 building a Shearwater Catamaran, on stand 14 next to me the carver was working on the figurehead, he invited me to do some carving.
The figurehead was carved from Canadian pine a beautiful wood to carve.
I understand the figurehead had been removed before the fire.

I have attached a photo of me working at Earls Court.

As far as i know work is still proceeding but there don't seem to have been any recent press releases.

Some good pics of the items stored at Chatham here though: http://www.chdt.org.uk/NetsiteCMS/pageid/823/Photos%20of%20The%20Cutty%20Sark%20Restoration.html
