As I was saying I decided to build a one meter yacht that was early in the new year and work is in progress, (by the way my aviator flip 90o when I uploaded it need some help to sort it out please) so far I built two hulls over a set of shadows (bulkheads) I have fibreglassed inside & out, made the keel blade, also turned patterns for the lead keel weight tomorrow I hope to cast some molds Is say molds because I intend to cast three different sizes, In the mean time I have been making turnbuckles still got a few to make. As I said in my first post when I drew the outline of my boat on the building board I knew nothing about the parameters of the different classes of racing yachts and quite frankly it dosent really matter as I have no interest in competition as it sufficient for me to design a craft that I hope will perform reasonably well. The dimensions of my boat are 1M X 255 X 120 the blade is 446 X 80mm plus the bulb
. Now its time to start asking questions 1. is there a optimum center of gravity in boats, 2. I have some 1.3M X 10mm fibreglass rods will they be long enough for masts they weigh appox, 8ozs. 3. At what % from the bow should I place the mast and blade.
As I have stated previously I know nothing but have plenty of ideas.
Feel free to have a laugh on me I probably deserve it.
