This blew me away, so i thought i'd share.

I thought there was more snow on it than the picture shows ?.

Great image. I love the fact that near the top you can see stacked strata on Everest - rock bedding laid over a large area - which, beyond the physical mountain itself, has been eroded away by the Himalayas-full. :o

Brilliant! bigest camp site I've ever seen.  Would never have imagined just how many tents and folk there are up there all at the same time, it's a huge canvas village  O0  nice one S F

You go there to expereince the wilderness, join the crowd, are surrounded by trash and (believe it or not) people on mobile/sat phones to the office.

It is also the site of the final resting place of over 140 people that thought they could conquer nature & paid with their lives,some were great people like George Mallory & Irving, & a lot of foolish ones.Mick B.

There are I believe quite a few 'tours' available to base camp now, a friend of mine managed to complete one a couple of years ago.

what got me, was the 'small' peaks just above the base camps.
they look quite a challenge in themselves.  %%
