May interest some out there
« on: May 23, 2007, 10:12:46 pm »

I thought that I would post a couple of pictures of a small but cute vessel currently being restored with lottery funds at Smalls DryDock slipway in Lowestoft
It may even be possible to get some more (If I ask nicely)

Thats the last remaining steam drifter/trawler in the UK. Lydia Eva YH189. More photo's would be especially valuable for boatmadman for his steam drifter build especially if you can get photo's of the deck

I had thought about putting the address of the dry dock so that others could come and see it.

I'm NOT that cruel  just take a look at this youtube

Richard,

Could you get some snaps of the rigging as well please, I need to know where they attach to the deck/superstructure/bulwarks.

Thanks

Boatmadman, I'll pop down to the dock in the next few days and ask if I may go aboard the vessel for the pictures

As for the Lowestoft thing sorry ! go to youtube search for Lowestoft and watch "the jewej of the east"

sums up this town and council but hey I'm only here just under half a year every year ;D

Richard,

Your help is very much appreciated, while you are down there, some pics of mast and boom fittings, goosenecks etc and any construction or deckhouse that is over the chain steering gear at the rudderpost would be a great help.

Also, on the deck at the sharp end, if there is a companionway to storage/crew accomodation etc below deck, a pic or two of that would be very useful as well.

Again, many thanks in anticipation.

I'll get back to you soon.
