RC Switcher units?
« on: March 21, 2013, 02:34:56 pm »

Hi All

I've decided to convert my Model Slipway Envoy tug to 2.4Ghz and replace the old 27Mhz 2 channel set that was in it. I've done this now and all is well but as I now find myself with a 6 channel transmitter and a 6 channel receiver I'm wondering what else I can control.

I am going to fit a small smoke unit inside the boat and was thinking I could use one of the switches on top of the transmitter as a switch to turn the smoke on and off and maybe add a switch to turn the cabin lights on and off.

Can anyone point me to a good RC Switch unit that will sit on one of the receiver channels and allow me to operate other circuits in the boat? I've seen one on ebay that works from a stick channel that you push forward to turn on and forward again to turn off but I'd prefer to use the on-off switches on the transmitter if possible?
Only need about 1 amp for the smoker and far less than that for the lighting circuit.

Hope that makes sense!

Cheers

Craig.

Standard version is 1 Amp; 3 Amp version also available. Works from 2-way switched channels e.g. "Gear", "Flap".

Oh, That was easy, thought it would be more difficult than that.  :-)

They look just the ticket and the 3 amp rated one will be safe to power my smoke unit and they state it can be used on a switched transmitter channel too as you said. I'll order one up and see how it works.
Hadn't heard of components shop either so that's another site added to the bookmarks.  :-)

Thanks
