Thank you very much Simon.  :-))

The upgrade with the new rudders is finished. I will paint them later this week.

Getting everything in working order takes longer than to make the rudders itself ...

Work is finished ... greased all axles and tested the whole stuff with the radio control ... I am happy with the results and the CM looks even better.

Danielle............with the extra surface area of the rudders, you will find the steerage is sharper or more responsive to the helm

Have you considered using an ACTion P96 servo slow down?........may assist in more scale like rudder movements over jerkiness

http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjW_bilnYXMAhXktYMKHXZ2AxUQFggcMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.action-electronics.co.uk%2Fpdfs%2FP96.pdf&usg=AFQjCNGg2pxP5R0u9BeNodnY2dJ2UCvg5w

On the subject of steerage, could you please confirm the Brand of manufacture for your steering link ladder chain & sprockets....it doesn't appear to be from either Tamiya, the Servo City range from USA or any of the SPD offerings

Such a single installation of the chain drive will assist me in a very limited space area aft of the rudder post to achieve ~~ 180 degrees of swept rudder movement O0

Derek I bought the sprocket and chain from CONRAD ELECTRONIC in germany --->https://www.conrad.de/

The chain can be fond in MECCANO kits. Its half the width and goes well with the thin meccano sprockets.
Sprockets are cheap module 1 ones.

Maybe I can find a onlineshop for you. Shops with robotics have them ....

That is a lovely detail to add to aworking model Danielle.

I read the first four pages trying to work out how your hull had gone from a rounded shape with close pitch ply frames to a squarer bilge with fewer frames and a longer hull before realising that it wasn't Nuova but the thread of another lovely model that you had reopened. What a gorgeous model. I think she is one of the most realistic models I have seen on the water, and if the films were slowed down, people might wonder why you had spent so much time filming the real thing! Only the frequency of the waves makes it obvious that the ship is a model.

Also, I salute your reserves of enthusiasm for making so many crab pots. How did you make them? Wire and Viol netting?

Thanks a lot ... my wife does all filming of the CM. Its always very nice to see it on the lake.

The prototype crab pots where made by myself. The serie production by my wife. I use copper wire soldered together. Then the pots go into a saltwater bath for a couple of day so they start to corrode.
Netting is from a local sewing shop. Its netting intended for carneval costumes. Viol netting was to small. Original color is silver and therefore I spraypainted it to the right color.

Hi Missy, CM is handling great with the new props and rudders, wish we had show areas like that in the UK, looks like there was a good turnout of models on show

Its reported today (yesterday) that the fishing vessel Destination is missing with all hands in the Bering Sea. The search has been called off by the coastguard. The Destination appeared in the program Deadliest Catch along with the Cornelia Marie

Though the Destination was not a boat featured on Discovery’s Emmy-winning reality series Deadliest Catch, Hillstrand’s fellow captains on the show joined the Coast Guard and the boat’s owners in expressing both their condolences to the crew’s family and friends and thanks to the shoreline volunteers and Good Samaritan vessels who aided in the search.
