You guys know me too well, I would like one if I have time and I think the wife wants one aswell, everytime I search for Damen stantug 1606 in google images I find another tug in a different set of colours that would look nice on my shelf.

That's easy Phil put up a big shelf & build a fleet of them in all the colour's  {-) {-) {-)

Thanks guys, I'm pretty pleased with the way this ones looking, now for the tedious part...........15 or so coats of release wax, 2 part layup then cross my fingers I wind up with a useable mold,  I haven't had too many issues in the past but then again I've never included this much detail before.

Just noticed that since receiving a coat of 2 pack that I can see all the ribs quite clearly.
Normally I would be quite happy with this as real ships are never smooth anyway, you can always see all the panels etc, but I plan to offer this hull for sale and worry it might  been seen as a blemish........what are your thoughts?  ( can be seen in the first of the three previous photos )

Waiting on resin and stuff so I've started work on the wheelhouse, this is just the first set of mdf templates, once I get it right in mdf I will do it in acrylic.

I have a small confession to make regarding the hull, I really didn't like the way the ribs were showing ( I know I know ) so I have started removing the foam and glassing the inside to make it right, the starved horse effect would have made it difficult when it comes to the cooling channels on the hulls exterior, shouldn't take too long to fix.

Good g@d Phil, you've even got the the manufacturers nameplate. You're the man for even the smallest detail. Btw, nice looking condenser unit.

Is it wrong to dream about another man's laser cutter?
If the misses wake's me up one night and asks "Who the hell is Epilog?" , Phil will have a lot of explaing to do!

Awesome work and detail on your models! Looking forward to the next update.
Cheers

Im the same to be honest, toyed with the idea of getting one for a long time. Im into CAD stuff and not particularly good at making bits of wood fit together after freehand cutting.

I have the space for a laser cutter, the question really is what machine to buy.

Epilog are renown for their quality and service worldwide. definitely a major investment, it was either a second car or the laser, I still think we made the right choice, oh and my wife thinks I'm sick aswell

I had the idea of spending more on a machine which would enable me to do cutting for other folks, for a small fee of course.

Really really want a laser and I suppose prices can only reduce as time goes on.
