Love the weathering on this boat. You have captured what a real working vessel looks like, something I'm alluding to on my fishing smack. These kind of workboats were always covered in grime, why model them in pristine condition when in real life they never looked like a varnished racing yacht!

Thank you Brian for your kind comments :)

So today was day one of day off work I done a little bit to the puffer touched up the hatch cover where needed and I removed the bike that was broken painted the new one I had and stuck it on done it exactly in the same colours and put it back in the same place I also sprayed two coats off Matt varnish on the hatch cover now it's fully finished to protect the paint and the finish very happy with it :)

I'm awaiting a few parts before I can declare the cabin as finished now but she's getting there I ended up spending the rest of the day washing polishing waxing my car and cooking a nice lasagne for when the wife finishs work I think a well deserved few beers tonight are in order :)

I will be doing more work tomorrow I will update then with more pictures but any way here's the pictures from today :)

Ok cheers Ian :)
I done some more work today day 2 of the holiday from work and one of the parts I had ordered arrived which I'm very pleased about so it means there's not much on the cabin left to do few touch ups and a few bits to add, any way the part that arrived was a new deck hand a young boy basically I have read many history items on the puffer and they nearly always carried crew animal cat or dog and a young deck hand,
Any way it's a resin model I primered painted and stuck in place hoping to get much more done 2mora but it's looking good in my opinion and I'm happy with how it's coming along

Ian this is what happens when my dads at work and wife is so there not bothering me and I have a full day on her :)

The figures are 1/35 from a company called fields of glory they mainly deal with railway figures and war stuff but there railway figures fit in very well with the puffer unfortunately there not cheap but the are very good resin casts and good quality much better than the caldercraft standard ones :)

Large bucket is for unloading the cargo.  I think the wee boy has been instructed to take the small bucket (pail) of coal for the stove in the  crew`s cabin forward.   Shrinkage as they call it in the trade.

"The Angels Share"  a recent film about the whisky trade is currently on release in the UK. Next time you get an empty barrel try to see if there are any neatly applied wooden dowels under the iron hoops, if so then the cask has been blessed by an angel. They only take about a  HP Sauce bottle`s worth from a barrel.
