caldercraft clyde puffer
« on: April 02, 2013, 07:27:53 pm »

Hello there
I'm new to the forum but I have been doing boats a few years now a few people from west Wales model boat club no me as I normally just put my build logs on there but I thought I'd give the forum a go ( first of all if I make spelling mistakes or use short text I'm sorry that's how I write its habit lol )
After finishing a fishing boat I was building full wooden hull kit  I was brought the puffer  as a birthday present  :) I have made some progress I have had her about two months now I work quiet slow normally because I'm fussy if it don't look right I rip it apart and do it again lol here's some of the pics of her so far she will eventually run on a decaperm 6v, sound unit smoke unit and I'm still thinking about the lights I no the real Clyde's had oil lanterns but I don't no either to go straight for normal LEDs or not

You might like to only post 5  pictures at a time.  This will reduce the loading time for each posting.  (it will also increase your Post's total to enable you to advertise an item in the 'for sale' dept .)

You will need gow lamps to use with flicker units.
Apart from Hunter, Action do a flicker as well.
I think LEDs are not much use on period vessel models.

Hi Darren
You can look on line just enter Hunter Systems Models.  Each unit will operate 3x12 volt grain of wheat lamps on a 6 volt battery leds are not suitable.  They look very realistic.

Hunter and Action are listed on the forums traders page.
Why go elsewhere?

Boat captin so way I understand that is 1 unit has 3 units inside so one unit can run 12 6v grain of wheat bulbs on a 6v lead acid
