Southampton gearbox
« on: April 04, 2013, 02:21:00 pm »

Hi, I have one of these RTR tugs and converted it to tractor steering, but i am finding the gearbox is slipping, the plastic cogs are spinning on the metal output shafts. Has anyone else had this problem and any solutions would be appreciated :)

Try epoxying the gears to the shafts. If the shafts are thick enough you might be able to drill & pin them to the gears.Use the smallest drill possible. Mick B.

Also broken drill bit shanks make most excellent pins for this particular task
