Prop size for 2846 inrunner
« on: April 12, 2013, 12:21:21 pm »

I have a Black Mantis B2846 (400 size replacement) that I have successfully used in aircraft :
it's specs are   1100 kv   Max amps 18
I've run it at 120 - 145 watts at 10amp -14amp   using 3s lipos well within it's range

Now I would like to use it in a boat probably the Fairey Swordsman as featured in the masterbuild by Bluebird

I'm guessing it will have more than enough power but what size prop should I use for this application?
I intend to use 3s lipo but could also use 2s. I'm not looking for outright performance just something in keeping with a fun/sport boat.

Any help /observations welcome    Thanks

A 35-40 mm brass Raboecsh/Rivabo prop will approximately give you that power on 3 cell. Racing style prop probably closer to the 30-35 mm range due to the increased pitch of the props.
