Standard M2 threaded radio control rods - if you are like me you will have offcuts of this stuff lying around

You could try begging some from a welding shop if you know of one local to you.  Luckily the firm I work for does all stainless welding so I have a choice of just about any size and quantity.

Hi all, thanks for all your help. Mallard metals fixed me up, great firm to deal with. Now why did I not think of using TIG rod? There is a stockest just round the corner from work. I live but I do not learn.
