Its a manifestation of Murphy's Law, or a tradition, or an ancient charter, or fate or something.  Probably something.  On the other hand, weren't the fates females?

If you have to redecorate, you should at least redecorate your workshop first.  And as part of that redecoration re-equip it too.
With any luck the other rooms will only need a coat of emulsion  {-)

Correct , the woman has no sense of priority whatsoever.  Emulsion is fine for the rest of the premises. O0

female logic runs thus, you have time to play with your models, so that means you must have time to get important things done - like decorating.

I laughed at this thread last night.  Then this morning the wife says "While you're not working we can redo the floors!"  :o

Oh the joys of a real wood floor!

But it does mean the hiring of some truly exciting new power tools!  :-))

e2v.....if you do some mathematical calculation  ;D ........you may be able to convince your Chancellor or the Exchequer that it would be far more economical to purchase the said new power tools ....then they would be available forever   {-) for your model work.........Derek  :-))

Like to see this being used on a model
:D :D :D

Arrow5, I would have left the fireplace for the times when you want to be snug and cosy, nothing like a real fire when the wind is howling and the snow falling.

Well I could use that sander on the deck of my HMS Invincible  :o    You are right about the fire W3bby, but I have ensured that the chimney flue wasn't  blocked and and wood burner stove could be the next expense.  I do like to toast my buns over a real fire :o %% %) {-) .  Good when wearing the kilt in winter and the wind is howling round the Trossachs. :embarrassed:

my wife won 15m2 of parquet flooring on ebay for 99p, when I picked it up I found it came in kit form and each 4" x 3/4"x3/4" block needed cleaning up first (its still waiting to be done a year on).

This afternoon my wife asked me to change the bathroom lightbulb which sits behind a heavy glass bowl. Two of three bolts always need to be loosened before it will come off ..... except today. It flew off after one bolt and smashed a very expensive sink. Many many expletives were uttered ... are still being uttered.

Oh yes - no damage at all to the glass bowl  <*<
