NATO Exercise "Joint Warrior"
« on: April 26, 2013, 11:38:21 pm »

I was staying with my parents last week in a remote part of the west coast of scotland and to my surprise war ships kept sailing around the headland all week and doing maneuvers in the bay. I looked online when I got back and discovered they were having a big NATO exercise which explains a lot. I took photos of the ones I could that came close enough for my camera but I didnt have the best of cameras with me. There were several I had to look up as I hadent seen them before. Most of them were from the Neatherlands or Scandanavian. I did see a submarine as well but it was way to far out to identify let alone photo. All photos are of non UK ships although one of the hilights was what I think was a frigate come in the bay on a breezy day and first a Lynx came and landed and about 30 min later a Seaking came and landed. It was pretty heavy weather out past the headland so they were obviosly taking advantage of the shelter to land the helicopters.

Hi,
It  is  one  of  the  Skjold  class  fast  missile  boats.
Either  HNOMS  Gnist  (P  965)  or  HNOMS  Steil  (P  963)  from  the  list  you  linked  to.
Regards
