Yes she was, hence the gun on the forecastle. The very earliest photo I have she still has the gun stand, but the gun has gone.

Well when they launched it at Blackpool years ago, I went to look at it, had a chat to the guy that designed it for Jotica, I asked him why he had put the forecastle deck in timber, where the drawings show it as plated,( LOADS OF WATER ON THIS DECK BECAUSE OF THE LOW FREEBOARD), He said, it looked nicer, I said  , you copied the ROLLCALL from british steam tugs, my drawings show a full plated deck.
Compering my model to the kit , it just towers over it, 1/40 scale to 1/48 does not seem much but its longer , wider and higher, apart from a few mistaks its a nice looking kit and sails o/k. ron h

Ron, it seems to me that you are modeling 36 hours a day, 9 days a week  :D

Another fine model, which you have done there!

HI there,
Found this on a web site dedicated to shipbuilding on the Clyde shipbuilding

http://www.clydesite.co.uk/clydebuilt/viewship.asp?id=20473

There is a chance for you to get a copy of the actual builders plans
when the shipyards all started to shut the majority of drawing were sent to either
the Glasgow Mitchell library or Glasgow University Archives.
If you contact them they will be able to get you (if they have them) a copy

A Word of warning a friend got a set from them years ago for a LST (WW2)
the cost was to be over £150 for the drawings when he checked he found that was for
all the drawings including electrical/ plumbing/ rivet details etc. final cost was £20 for
general arrangement and line drawings

Thanks Gingyer
I'll try them,i have a feeling the Mithchell library stuff went to Greenwich a while ago, they can supply builders plans, but i was hoping to get model builders plans if possible, the chap lives in Germany and is retired,so i don't want to waste his limited funds unnessesarly.
