BEALE IS BACK -2013
« on: May 05, 2013, 07:29:44 pm »

having just returned from AT Boatyard/ Beale park event.....all i can say is BEALE IS BACK,

and its on my calendar for 2014, - if this event is anything to go on !

the sun shone, the modellers were out in force with anything from thames barges, tugs, lifeboats, fast electrics, yachts, hovercraft, the portsmouth display team put on a first class show with lots of bangs and smoke, and  everyone seemed to be having a 'TOP DAY OUT'

a very very big thank you to everyone who made this event happen- you all deserve a huge pat on the back....

good luck to all those doing the big thames cruise and i hope to catch up with you at times ' en route'

for those who didnt attend- ( YOU MISSED A 'blinking!' FANTASTIC EVENT  O0 )

and roll on 2014 event-

i will upload some of the many many photos i took  at the event in the next 24 hrs.....

Cracking day had by all, first boat show I've taken my 7 year old son to and he loved it.

Having not been modelling for a year or so (lack of interest) today has given me the enjoyment to crack on with building my models and who knows I might actually finish something lol

Top show plenty of people and plenty on show well done Beale and AT boatyard

Bring on next years show  :-))

Myself (Shipmate60), Dave (Dodes) and Jay (Jay Beazley) visited today.
The show seemed far better organised today.
For those that know Malc Wilson he was at the show for a while, looking a bit frail but so glad to see him.
Met a few usual suspects. Phil and Stef, Klunk, Guy Bagley, BobK, The Portsmouth Display Team, Alan and Debs from AT and glad to see Richard Howard looking good after his illness.
I would like to thank the organisers, Beale Park, Mid Thames Model Boat Club and A T Boatyard.
PS Only one minor niggle, did the coffee have to be that price!!!!!

I concur - a really worthwhile show. Well done to everyone who helped make it such a success.

The only problem: when The Management and I arrived the hot food had run out - so we went to the main restaurant and ordered some but, after waiting 50 minutes for it to arrive, we complained and got our money back.

Well Steamboatboat Apprentice and I have just returned from a great weekend, for all those that missed it, yuo missed a pearl of a show, and expect to see you all there next year, and with free camping the social side is an extra bonus. Well done to the A Team Boatyard, Mid Thames MBC, Richard Howard and Beale park, you are to be congratulated (did miss the buttie wagon though...)
last night saw SB App and I helping the team get the  Type 45 from the pond to the Thames, and this morning at 7 30 saw us down there helping to cheer them off on their voyage up and down the river (this involved lots of tea supplir=ed of course by the lovely "Debbie the cakes" )
10 am saw them set of with support from several full size boaters....good luck chaps we will be catching up with you along the way....and for those not there.... :-))

We at the Model Boat Association Dover had a great day at Beale Park, thanks to all involved in organising it. I am the one in the photos ( post 17 ) with arms folded and legs down the Funnel and that is Kelvin feeding his face behind the Loyal Mediator on our Stand.

Congratulations to all concerned,it looks like it was a great show, and well supported.I wish we could put on something like that down here, but with our lakes having so many restrictions,it would be virtually impossible.
Maybe I will make it to your excellent show next year.
Good luck to you all,and well done the organisers.

Please accept my apology - I wasn't concentrating on your legs at the time! Also, it was the superb weathering on the Loyal Mediator that caught my eye - a quite brilliant model.  :-)
