Bowman racing yacht
« on: January 18, 2013, 10:06:43 am »

Good morning Gentlemen, I have been asked to help with the restoration of this little Bowman Racing Yacht. It is 21 1/2" x 4 7/8" has anyone had any experience of these, I am trying to work out how to rig the boom and rudder, at the moment the rudder flaps about quite loosely, so as it stands is useless for steering, and there seems to be no way of positively setting the sails. Any help/ideas will be greatly appreciated, a web-search has so far revealed nothing of any use.
Regards,
Nick.

Nick, might it be worth contacting the bowmancircle? I had a look through their site but very little is shown on yachts.

Has anyone thought that the rudder maybe weighted, so when the boat heels it swings and corrects the course? I had a pond yacht when I was a lad and that was what was fitted. Just an idea.
