Bending Planking after Sealing?
« on: May 14, 2013, 12:57:48 am »

Guys........just a hypothetical question I need to understand
Need to pre seal & moisture proof the underside of 8 mm x 3 mm Tassie Oak deck planks prior to installing
Have read the Cabots WEB site relating to sanding sealers & polyurethane products
The installation of the deck planks will require cold bending say 20 mm gradual set in 300 mm length as shown below
Will the bending crack the integrity of the sanding sealer?....or would it be best to pre steam & set the planks prior to preparing/painting the underside of the planks with sanding sealer?.............
I plan to use [SIKAflex] polyurethane adhesive, so no issues with adhesion ..........Derek

Derek,
Myself, I'd prebend, seal and glue.
No problems then.
cheers
