Fleetscale \ Sirmar fittings HMS Cottesmore
« on: May 17, 2013, 12:52:16 am »

I've posted this query here because I think it may get lost in the Warship forums.

Since selling the MSW Envoy, Im considering the Fleetscale & Sirmar fittings for HMS Cottesmore. Fleetscale do a superstructure moulding and sirmar do the fittings kits. But, despite asking both Fleetscale and sirmar, none have got back to me saying whether either of them produces a funnel for Cottesmore.

IMO, funnels are hard to build from scratch with their difference curves and stuff so, i wouldnt want to buy the hull and all fittings to fin the funnel is a diy job.

So, has anyone built the FS Cottesmore and, were you able to buy a scale funnel (I think its 1\48 scale)?

I don't believe it is
The 2 builds I have seen on the web they both built their own funnel
although only 1 used the superstructure kit and said he binned it as it wasn't to his liking.
best thing is to call fleetscale and speak to Justin everyone who has spoken to him has said he is very helpful

Thanks for the info. Must admit, I got the impression it wasnt commercially available.

Oh well, looks like I'll have to knock that one on the head then.

I've a Cottesmore sat on my sideboard - I'll take a look when I get home (I didn't build her). From memory the funnel is long and thin so not such a construction nightmare as say a T42 or T22.
