Lady drivers
« on: May 17, 2013, 07:50:17 pm »

:-)) Has anyone noticed that the ladies are becoming very aggressive on the roads lately, cutting up,tailgating, speeding and down right rude
it's normally boy racers but the girls are getting in on the act. This afternoon I was tailgated for some miles by this young lady in heavy traffic
when I pulled up at the lights in line with everyone else, she overtook everybody in the line and cut in at the front, when people bibbed her the window came down and the finger went up,some cheek whatever happened to manners,Ray %% %%

Over here they usually have their I.Q. on their personalised number plate in place of their age.  O0

When was the last time you were waved a "thank you" by a female driver? No - I can't remember either. The universal reaction round here is to drive past you with their eyes fixed straight ahead, as if you didn't exist. They're not prone to allowing you into queuing traffic in front of them either.
That said, I can guarantee that the very worst examples of driving e.g. cutting in, overtaking on the inside, not giving way at road junctions, cutting corners etc are always by young blokes. Nothing changes much, does it?

this morning as a matter of fact........................I find that both sex's are as bad as each other.........

and the biggest pains are those (the majority of  which are) who drive expensive cars who can't afford 50 quid for a hands free and still use their phones................IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE who still uses a mobile stuck to your ear when driving, think of those......like me and my family who were badly hurt by a neuro surgeon who rear ended me in his merc 6 years ago, WHILST USING HIS PHONE GLUED TO HIS EAR!!! and my back will never recover..............they (phone users) are the scum of drivers!!!!!

AND IN MY MIND ARE AS BAD AS DRINK DRIVERS........and cause almost as many deaths!!!

If you still do it.......DON'T!!!! >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-(

It's an age thing with "Lady" drivers as well. Those over thirty tend to be more courteous (50 for men), you only need to see those on "The Apprentice" to get a taste of their driving (in more than one sense) ability.

Mobile phones? easy, Police should stamp on the phone and have the car picked up and crushed.  :-))

  Wouldn't take many.

I get the impression that male mobile phone offenders are often either van drivers or of the 'doesn't apply to me' type that Neil mentions. When it was still legal to do it I tried it once and immediately decided I couldn't have proper control of the car at the same time.
I don't think hands free is much of an improvement as you are still trying to concentrate on two things at once, your conversation and your driving. I think it is OK to have music on though as your participation is passive and it is effectively just a background which you can literally 'tune out' if the driving needs particular concentration.

Last week on my home from work, I saw a young Asian lady in a Toyota Yaris weaving all over the A406, a busy London Road. As I passed her I noticed she had a white mobile phone tucked into her hijab, with the charging cord  going across her face. She also had a sat nav stuck on the window screen in front of her at about her eye level.
I have no idea if she was talking on the phone, I just drove a bit quicker to get out of her kill zone.

I often wish there was a whistle blower line that you could phone when you see this, and the culprits could get fined with out having to involve the old bill

Don't know about over there, but in Queensland it's is a joke and lip service.
No one gets pulled up for such a "minor" infringement, police have more important things to do with their limited budget and numbers.
Not to mention the costs in booking these offenders, at least 50% of all drivers, for the paltry fine/slap on the wrist.
So the Pollies bring in laws to pacify the community, but don't legislate sufficient penalties, or if they do, the civil libertarians get up in arms and the penalty is reduced.

Umis 30 min video is a gem and says it all  :-)) :-)) {-) {-)

Finnish police are hoping to bring in a confiscation law next year.  Basically if you a caught your phone will be confiscated and not returned until the fine has been paid

Talking of women drivers...

Do you know that the fastest funny car driver in Europe is a woman?

Last year, Stephie Milham (She Devil Racing) set a new record time for the standing quarter mile of 6.003 seconds with a top speed of 238mph driving her alcohol fuelled funny car. Have a look at http://www.shedevilracing.com

(she made me a cuppa once years ago when I went to empty her wheelie bin that the usual crew had forgotten)

Look up "the Nurburgring Taxi" for a lady driver to admire.   She did the `Ring in a Ford "Transit" for Top Gear some time ago too.

...and the F1 cars have paddle gear change levers, which brings us nicely back to boating.  That Williams lass is from Oban and there is a cruise ship aground there this morning.
