Wood Identity?
« on: May 19, 2013, 01:06:26 pm »

Being of a persuasion that tries to find new uses in modelling for waste material, i.e. tight, I wonder if anybody can identify the wood strip commonly used for the rim of boxes containing brie, camembert etc.? It's very light in colour, flexible, has almost no grain and sands to a smooth finish.
Any ideas?

I don't know but I have about 1000 1m strips of something similar.... about 1mm thick and 25mm wide.  They were found in the attic of the cow shed and no-one has the slightest idea where they came from or what they are for.
Its very flexible but I have as yet found no need for it.

Thanks for those replies. Something else to put in the Bitsa Box!
