Scalloway, Shetland.....west of Lerwick. without a shadow of doubt.

built a model of a cambletown 87' boat for the museum in lerwick and delivered personally......went to Scalloway to meet the owner of the real boat, a gent called Tait.

Coulport actually.
RNAD with Floating Dock.
I was there in 1970 on a H boat
We had 2 days of Tidal Stream Obs to do.
We were anchored dropping tree poles off the stern
and taking speed and angles of flow as you do.
Captain decided to take some angles from the jetty
so went across in the Gemini.
Cold day so he has his survey hat on, Russian furry thing
Mod Plod rush across and Arrest him.
You can't make this sort of thing up.
Later he became an Admiral, Hydrographer of the Navy.
Also Ruler of the Preston Guild.
