Correct , in the flatlands a wee bit to the Nor-east.  Now moored in the excellent Maritime Museum located in the ex Royal Dutch Naval Yard Den Helder. Well worth a visit.

Hmmm... maybe this isn't a clock tower but a tide indicator. The "clock" faces are at different times. :((  Lack of maintenance more likely  >:-o

No offence taken my man, "two great nations separated by a common language" to paraphrase Churchill.  BTW "Sassenach" means lowlander, not Englishman.  That is a hint for your new geography lesson :}

I'm sure I would not be venturing to naysay such an esteemed Heilan Chentleman but as Dougie would tell you himself, 'Sassenach' refers to a 'Saxon'. Yon hairy, uncivilised, tribe furth of Scotia in the Deep Sooth of this island.

Slainte,

I will call this one a score draw as both are correct but the correct name is the Victoria Tower not the Hydraulic Tower. There are only two examples of this design in the World the other apparently is in St. Petersburg.

There are five DIALS any one of which can be seen from a point on a compass. The current owners, Peel Ports say that they are going to restore it  however, I'll believe that when it happens.

I didn't post the picture as a Where in the World,
but just to show a really fine example of a hydraulic
accumulator tower.
For anyone unsure as to the purpose, the accumulator
supplied hydraulic (water) power to open and close
the lock gates.

Very informative article. My childhood language and well into adolescence, was "country/town-ish" Ayrshire diluted with a bit o` Glesca due to teenage trips to that city "for the dancin`"  at various Palaise de danse establishments until I was called-up for National Service   whence my vocabulary was enhanced with Anglo Saxon and Arabic expletives. No swearwords in Gaelic just blasphemy and medical terms I believe, nice.  Now I have an idea for a nice hexagonal clock tower for "Where in the world" :}
