That is one amazing model John, and I just love the history and pictures. Keep them coming.
 
So, who is going to add your final date on the plaque: 1940-20, also is your family going to keep the boat or is it going somewhere else? Not being morbid just enquiring.
 
I also love the bottom hull decking colours, are they stained that way or painted? Actually on further looking they look like copper plates.

Thank you so much.The date?well that is a good question but I know it won't be me. :-)
They are copper plates that have been heated to take on the coloring.I wanted them to blend in with the wood base.Cheers ! John.

So smarty pants I am right enuff !   Found a print with a ship of the period flying the Red Ensign, Admiralty connections and looks like a warship to me.  Serves me right  :(( :(( :(( >>:-(
